Aadhaar Privacy Policy

How and why Urbee uses Aadhaar to verify service partners and workers, and what we do to protect it.

We use Aadhaar for one reason only: to verify the identity of the professionals and workers on Urbee, so customers and companies can hire with confidence.

1. Purpose

Aadhaar-based verification is used to confirm the identity of service partners and workers who register on Urbee Home Services and Urbee Workforze. It is part of our KYC (Know Your Customer) process and helps keep the platform safe and trustworthy.

2. Consent is voluntary

Providing Aadhaar for verification is voluntary and always based on the partner's explicit consent, captured at the time of verification. Where the law allows, alternative officially valid documents may be accepted.

3. How verification is done

Verification is carried out through an authorised identity-verification partner using permitted, secure Aadhaar verification methods, in accordance with the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 and applicable UIDAI regulations.

4. What we store — and what we don't

• We do not store your full Aadhaar number in our systems.
• We retain only a verification status, a masked reference, and the minimum data needed to prove that verification took place.
• Aadhaar is never used as the sole login identifier for your account.

5. No unnecessary sharing

Aadhaar-related information is not shared with other users or third parties, except as strictly required by the authorised verification flow or by law.

6. Security

Aadhaar-related data is protected with encryption and strict access controls, and is handled only by systems and personnel that need it for verification.

7. Your rights and grievances

You may ask questions about your Aadhaar verification, or raise a concern, by writing to urbeehelpcentre@gmail.com. We will respond and act in line with UIDAI requirements and applicable law.
